Changelog

The release date and what changed in every Zapthen version, newest first. Notes are the original notes published with each update. Latest version: 0.6.1.

0.6.1 · Latest

Settings colors refined: coral is now used only for switches, the selected tab, the Save button and links; everything else is neutral gray, and the brand card at the top is light blue.

0.6.0

  • Settings has been redone: every option sits in a grouped card with its own icon, so things are easier to find.
  • You can now pick the interface language: follow the system, or choose Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, German, French or Spanish. It takes effect right away, no restart needed.
  • Settings tabs are regrouped as General, Actions, Services and Apps.
  • The General page now ends with an About section: website, privacy policy and feedback email.
  • The bar that appears when you select text now has tighter spacing between icons.

0.5.3

  • The copyright line in the About window now reads Zapthen.

0.5.2

  • One accent color: the highlighted first choice on the bar, the top row in the panel and the highlights in Settings now use the same coral as the website and the icon.

0.5.1

  • Fixed “language pack installed but Settings still says it isn’t”: Settings now re-checks on its own, so you don’t need to close and reopen the window.
  • Settings has a new look: icon tabs at the top, a brand header on the General page, a tinted status banner on the Translation page, and switching tabs no longer loses unsaved input.
  • The extension library grows from 27 to 46: Brave, Sogou, 360 Search, Juejin, CSDN, Baidu Tieba, Xueqiu, 36Kr, MDN, Apple Developer Documentation, PyPI, arXiv, English Wikipedia, Baidu Baike, Bing Dictionary, Linguee, Cambridge Dictionary, Google Translate (to English) and SMZDM. Each one was opened in a real browser to confirm it lands on search results.

0.5.0

  • The app is called Zapthen — in the menu bar, Settings, the bar, the permission guide and About. Select text, click once, and the next step is done.
  • Eight interface languages: English, 简体中文, 繁體中文, 日本語, 한국어, Deutsch, Français and Español. It follows your system language, and answers from Ask come back in that language too.
